Future Biodiversity – How can we explore and rewrite its story?

The cost of the workshop will be Euro 1340 . This covers all food, accommodation, local transport in the Burren and organisational costs. Once you have been offered a place at the workshop (and only then), please pay the equivalent in Australian dollars by bank transfer before 20 December 2026. Details of the account to pay will be sent to you.

However, if you have a PhD that you completed in the last 5 years (we call you an ECR, Early Career Researcher) or – in exceptional circumstances – if you are nearing completion of your PhD and you have a track record in making substantive contributions to debates, you could be one of 10 people to attend free of charge! All you would have to do is pay for your travel costs.

Please consider your carbon footprint for this meeting. This will be vary between individuals. For some of you, your employers will make a contribution towards carbon offsets or add something to the cost of your airline tickets. For others, please consider purchasing appropriate carbon credits from a third party to cover your travel emissions.

Refund policy

Andina is an informal group of colleagues, without financial reserves, which runs meetings for the benefit of the scientific community. By December 2026 we will be starting to pay venue and other costs on your behalf. Once you have made your payment, our refund policy is similar to a theatre ticket: we are happy to make a refund provided all tickets have been sold and we are able to “on-sell” your ticket to someone else. In case you are forced to cancel, for example for medical reasons, you should make sure that your travel insurance will cover it.
